To start off with, I opened up Photoshop and created a new document called 'Text Manip'.
I then typed out the words 'Text Manipulation' into a text box. This was going to be the text that I would manipulate. The next step was to change the size, colour and font of the text. To do this I highlighted my text and chose my text size, font and colour from the toolbar at the top of the page.
For my font I chose 'Desdemona' and for my font size, I originally chose 60 but it was too big for the page, so I reduced it to 48.
The next stage was to 'Rasterize' the text so that it could be edited. To do this, I highlighted all of the text and clicked on 'Type' and then clicked on 'Rasterize Type Layer'.
Once this was completed, I began to make individual layers for each letter. To do this I selected the 'Select' icon on the left had side of the page and selected each individual letter. I then pressed 'Ctrl, Shift, J' to create a new layer. I then needed to click back on the original layer and repeat this, however, I did not do this so I started again and made a new document.
I then created a new document and this time only typed out the word 'Text' to make it easier for me to edit it.
I then carried out the same steps as before and I then made individual layers. This time I learnt from my mistakes and did it correctly. I then named each layer according to which letter I had selected so that it was easier for me to know which letter I was manipulating.
The next stage was to go onto each layer and on the top toolbar, press 'Puppet Warp', under 'Edit'. This enabled me to be able to modify each letter.
Next, using the mouse, I dragged and shaped the letters on each layer.
