Fade to black

For this editing practical, I put a fade to black effect on a short clip to see the effect and to practice for when we do it for ours, to see what speed is good, the length of time it should be and when it should start in the clip etc. I found a clip I took when I was skiing, so it is quite fast paced and the handheld camera has a shaky, dangerous effect. I thought because of this that the fade should be quite fast to build suspense, but in the actual film opening being slower would create more suspense.
