Microphone testing
To test out the microphone quality and establish whether or not we would use it in our filming, I used GarageBand to record using the microphone to see the sound quality the microphone gave. I recorded it in a quiet environment with no background noise to make the test as fair as possible.
I first opened GarageBand and created a file called 'Microphone testing'.
Next I recorded myself saying "1, 2" into the microphone, while moving it away from my mouth each time. What I found was that the sound was good when it was right next to your mouth, but went a lot quieter as soon as it was anywhere more than 10cm away from your mouth and didn't really get a lot quieter or louder unless you moved it right back to your mouth, in which case it got louder.
As you can see, the only places where it's clear there was sound going into the microphone was when it was directly next to my mouth. Because of this, I think it's best if we don't use the microphone when filming as we won't get great usage out of it because it will have to be right next to the actors mouths.
Need sound clip attached
